Simon Crouch

The main photographer was Simon Crouch (one of his pictures above) who for many years was an ITV director/cameraman before going freelance and returning to his great love of stills photography. His television credits include Melvyn Bragg’s Land of the Lakes for Channel 4 and Norman Nicholson’s Lake District for ITV, and cameraman on three series of Channel 4’s The White Room, on Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Oratorio for Channel 4 and for numerous televised rock concerts. He won three Royal Television Society awards during his TV career.

Very sadly, he died in January 2016. How lucky I was to know him and to have his work grace my guide books.

Nina Kathryn Claridge

There’s also photography by Nina Kathryn Claridge (one of her pictures below) who spent two years in London working for Rankin, the celebrated portrait and fashion photographer, before going freelance. Now based in Cumbria, she has a range of greetings cards, is an official supplier to the National Trust and works with Booths Supermarkets. She has won four Epson International Pano Awards for her panoramic photography. A number of Nina’s panoramic scenes are included in the changing photographs at the top of the Home page.
